Alta Ego
3 min, DV Cam, Loop
2005
Referring to an inner twist, “Alta Ego” shows two 180° opposing black circle sequences featuring each a female figure - one barking furiously from above, the other dancing ecstatically below, as if lust and drive compete with the mind's decisions.
Accompanied by fireworks that lead like a peephole into another black universe, the left circle shows the close-ups of the eyes of a female figure. Like a furious authority, she looks down angrily, as if she is trying to stop the distant wild dancer - both portrayed by the artist – seen from a god’s view above in the lower right circle. The wild one, however, dances far away carefree in increasing wildness to the beat of the drum. The authority barks furiously at the dancer, who, however, falls deeper and deeper into the ecstasy of the dance. Finally, the authority capitulates from exhaustion, while the dance lustfully continues.
