The seminar Der verborgene Server – Digitale Technologien, Erscheinungsmythen, Machtbeziehungen und Körperpolitik (translated as The Hidden Server – Digital Technologies, Myths of Appearance, Power Relations, and Body Politics), part of the Master of Science in Business Administration program at the University of Potsdam for the Winter Semester 2023/24, was led by guest lecturer Nadja Verena Marcin, who invited Ariana Dongus to join as co-lecturer. This seminar explores the complex relationship between human imagination, technology, and body politics. Through critical readings, discussions, and practical exercises, participants will examine how technology has historically been used to control and exploit bodies, and explore the subtle ways in which AI and digital systems impact our daily lives and social structures. Drawing on theories by Neda Atanasoski, Kalindi Vora, and Silvia Federici, the seminar aims to guide students in developing their own documentary scripts, capturing and sharing insights on selected topics emerging from this collective inquiry.
