On Mar 20, 2018, the San Francisco Chronicle published an article by art critic Charles Desmarais titled “Ophelia Returns After 400 Years With a New Message,” in which he highlights Nadja Verena Marcin’s performance OPHELIA. In the exhibition, which is being shown at the Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco, Marcin dives into a salt water tank and recites Daniil Kharms’ text The Werld through a breathing apparatus. The event will include a panel discussion with Marcin, Dena Beard (executive director of The Lab) and Dorka Keehn (San Francisco arts commissioner and public art promoter) on Mar 22 at 6 PM, exploring the work’s multiple references to power and oppression.
