From Sep 27, 2019 – Feb 16, 2020, the Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken presents OPHELIA, a solo exhibition by Nadja Verena Marcin. The exhibition features a live performance where Marcin, dressed in a gown, submerges herself in a water-filled tank to recite Daniil Kharms’ text The Werld, highlighting themes of human perception and environmental destruction. Following the performance, a video installation of the piece is displayed, offering visitors an immersive experience that bridges art, literature, and ecological discourse. Alongside this, Marcin showcases several videos and photographs as part of her solo presentation, which coincide with a parallel solo exhibition by Iranian artist Parastou Forouhar, collectively transforming the museum into a space for interdisciplinary and cross-cultural dialogue.
