From Sep 6–23, 2018, the Moltkerei Werkstatt in Cologne hosts OPHELIA’S CEREMONY, a solo exhibition by artist Nadja Verena Marcin, as part of the DC Open Gallery Weekend. The exhibition features a live performance where Marcin immerses herself in a water-filled glass sarcophagus, attempting to recite Daniil Kharms’ The Werld, highlighting themes of human perception and communication. Marking the European premiere of Marcin’s worldwide OPHELIA tour, the event offers a profound commentary on the intersection of art, literature, and ecological discourse. On Sep 20, Marcin will also host an artist talk, sharing insights into her creative process and the feminist and ecological narratives underpinning her work. The exhibition is generously supported by the Kulturamt der Stadt Köln, FP-Racing, Franklin Furnace, Kickstarter, New York Foundation for the Arts, and the Puffin Foundation.
