From Nov 21, 2021 – Feb 13, 2022, the Kunstverein Ruhr in Essen presents #SOPHYGRAY, a solo exhibition by artist Nadja Verena Marcin. The exhibition explores artificial intelligence-driven algorithms and technologies from a feminist perspective, featuring an audio bot capable of live conversations with visitors on topics such as identity, role attribution, art, and feminism. A live performance by Marcin will take place on Jan 15, 2022, reflecting on visitor interactions with #SOPHYGRAY and critically examining the use of female voices in intelligent systems like Amazon’s Alexa, Microsoft’s Cortana, and Apple’s Siri.
