On Saturday, Jan 27, 2024, Nadja Verena Marcin holds #SOPHYGRAY‘s Feminist-Write-A-Thon, a workshop offering a technical and conceptual introduction to her audio bot, #SOPHYGRAY. Participants will learn how to create and contribute their own entries to the bot’s knowledge base, adding to its growing library of feminist literature, which will be accessible in the exhibition. Inspired by the legacy of Sophy Gray – a diocesan administrator, artist, architect, horsewoman and the wife of Cape Town bishop Robert Gray., this workshop encourages contributions ranging from creative writing to readings from recent feminist texts, like Legacy Russell’s Glitch Feminism and Emilia Roig’s Why We Matter. The workshop is part of Nadja Verena Marcin’s solo exhibition at alpha nova & galerie futura and is included in the Vorspiel program of the transmediale & CTM festival.
